Oracle to pause third-party data services in Europe

Oracle will stop offering third-party data targeting services across Europe beginning next week. The decision could be due to the multibillion-dollar lawsuit that the company had faced recently due to GDPR violations.

Partners were contacted by Oracle Data Cloud representatives this week to inform them that its data marketplace will no longer offer third-party audience segments in the EU, Switzerland and UK starting on September 15.

Oracle Data Cloud update to partners obtained by Adweek read that data from Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and/or all countries included within the European Union will be removed and cease to deliver out of the platform. Please be advised there’s no impact to first-party data ingest for those regions.

This implies that Oracle’s data management platform (DMP) services such as BlueKai, Crosswise and Datalogix all of which it acquired in an acquisition spree between 2014 and 2016, won’t be available using third-party data after Sept. 15, although they’re going to be available using first-party data.
